READy TO PLAY ESSAY CONTEST
Teamwork is important. Whether it’s in school or at home, working with others to accomplish a goal is a valuable part of life. Think about it. When is the last time you were part of a team? How did it help you? The Satori Athletic Organization provided a number of elementary school students in New Jersey the chance to write an essay about their "team" experience. Students competed to win an e-reader.

Costley School, East Orange, NJ, and the Charles H. Stillman Elementary School of Plainfield, NJ. Just in time for those summer reading assignments!

Join SAO for an informative and motivational forum, entitled, " Charting the Success of Student-Athletes" revealing the NCAA's view about what is currently ast stake for our young athletes.
This is an invaluable opportunity for athletic directors, guidance counselors, coaches, student-athletes, and parents to fully understand the initial-eligibility process which determines the academic and amateur eligibility status of aspiring high school athletes who seek to participate in athletic programs at NCAA Division I and II colleges across the nation.

Join SAO and Newark Public Schools for SAO’s annual athletic conference: Running the Point for Pink: A Sports, Education, and Awareness event!
Student-athletes will gain information important to their academic and athletic success directly from industry professionals. Don’t miss this all-day event that ends with a Cancer Awareness Girls' basketball game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Essex County Cancer Coalition.

RISE PANEL DISCUSSION
Join the University High School of Humanities (Newark, NJ) Girls' Basktball team for a panel discussion on how to "Rise as a Champion" on and off the court. The UHS Team will share experiences with the 6, 7, and 8th grade students of George Washington Carver Elementary and the Bruce Street Schools. Attendees will receive free copies "of the January/ February 2008 issue of RISE Magazine featurng team memebers Nadirah McKenith and Laurin Mincy (signed by the entire team) while supplies last.
